PanoCool Retouch

PanoCool Retouch is a web-based photo editor for both 360° photos (also called sphere photos or panoramas) and normal photos (also called flat photos). It works on any device, requires no installation, and is free to start using.

Every AI edit runs in one of three modes. Normal is the everyday engine; Fast and Pro follow awkward prompts more closely and are worth reaching for once Normal has had a try or two.

1. Select an area of the photo to open the AI edit box.
2. Click the mode button next to the reference image button. It shows the current mode.
3. Drag the slider to Normal, Fast, or Pro, or click a mode name under it. The panel shows what that mode is for and what it costs.
4. Type the prompt and click Make it!. The button shows the cost whenever the edit costs more than one AI edit.

• The selected mode stays in place for the edits that follow, until it is changed again.
• AI edits are only charged when an edit succeeds. A failed or blocked edit costs nothing.
• Reference images, saved prompts, and the AI Edit Eraser work the same way in every mode.

3D Rotation adjusts how an overlay sits on the sphere. Use it to make text, an image, or an icon look painted onto a wall, floor, ceiling, or other surface instead of floating flat in front of the camera.

When a supported overlay is selected, a floating 3D Rotation panel appears with three sliders:

• Tilt (X): Tips the overlay forward or backward.
• Turn (Y): Yaws the overlay left or right.
• Roll (Z): Spins the overlay in place.

Each axis ranges from −180° to 180°. The user can drag a slider, type an exact value, reset one axis, or reset all axes.

Changes appear live in the viewer. Undo and redo restore previous rotation values. The controls work on desktop and mobile. On small screens, the panel sits above the bottom toolbar and can be collapsed while the overlay is repositioned.

1. Open PanoCool Retouch and load a 360° photo.
2. Add or select a text, image, or icon overlay.
3. In the 3D Rotation panel, adjust Tilt, Turn, and Roll until the overlay matches the surface.
4. Export the panorama.

PanoCool Retouch can turn a panorama or normal photo into a hyper-realistic 3D scene that users can walk through and explore from different angles. Gaussian Splatting reconstructs the view from millions of small, fuzzy, translucent blobs of color rather than rigid hard-surface geometry, preserving realistic lighting and reflections while running smoothly on a regular laptop or smartphone.

• 360° panorama (sphere photo): Generate a model from a single panorama.
• Flat photo (normal photo): Generate a model from one flat photo, or combine up to four flat photos for a richer 3D model.

Multi-image generation is available only for flat photos. When multiple flat photos are open in the editor, PanoCool prompts the user to optionally include other open flat photos, up to a maximum of four, to improve 3D reconstruction.

• Output format: SPZ (compressed Gaussian Splat).
• Viewer: The generated result opens in an interactive 3D viewer in the browser.
• Cost: 80 AI edits per generation.
• Requirements: The user must be logged in and have enough AI edits.

1. Open PanoCool Retouch and load the photo or photos.
2. Click the Menu button at the top left of the editor toolbar.
3. Click Generate 3D Model. An information modal explains the feature and shows before-and-after examples.
4. Click Generate to confirm and start AI generation. Generation typically takes 1–3 minutes.
5. When generation finishes, the 3D model opens in a full-screen interactive viewer with orbit controls.

From the 3D viewer, the user can:

• Download the .spz file.
• Upload the 3D model to PanoCool Virtual Tour Studio for sharing and embedding.

PanoCool doesn’t disclose how 3D generation works beyond what this page describes.

Batch Sync applies the current changes to multiple other images. It is useful for repeating changes such as adding a logo or text across several images.

Presets let users save changes and reuse them. This feature is available on the Cool plan only.

Saved AI Prompts let users save frequently used AI editing prompts for quick reuse. The feature is available on the Cool and Super Cool plans only.

While editing with AI, click the bookmark icon next to the Make it! button. A popover appears with a prompt name, automatically filled from the first 40 characters of the prompt, and the full prompt text. Edit either field if needed, then click Save.

• Click the list icon above the prompt textarea to open the Saved Prompts modal.
• The modal shows the user’s saved prompts and built-in prompts such as Remove tripod, Remove people, and Fix overexposure windows.
• Click Use on any saved or built-in prompt to fill the AI edit textarea immediately.

Hover over a saved prompt in the list, then click the trash icon. Built-in prompts cannot be deleted.

• Maximum 50 saved prompts per user.
• Prompt name: up to 100 characters.
• Prompt text: up to 2,000 characters.
• Saved prompts are stored locally for immediate access and synced to the cloud so they persist across devices.
• A set of common built-in prompts is always available at the bottom of the list.

AI Edit Eraser lets the user selectively erase parts of the latest AI edit with a brush, revealing the original photo underneath.

The eraser is available only when the latest edit is an AI edit.

1. Click the Eraser button in the top-right toolbar.
2. Draw directly on the photo with the brush to erase parts of the AI edit.
3. Adjust Brush Size, Opacity, and Feather (hardness or softness) with the sliders in the control panel.
4. Click Done to save the changes, or Cancel to discard them.
