Go to scene settings: transition and arrival view
The Go to scene action of a navigation hotspot has its own settings: the destination scene, the transition visitors see on the way there, and, if you want, the view they arrive at. Each hotspot keeps its own settings, so two links to the same scene can use different transitions. These settings are available on all plans.
How to change them:
- Select the navigation hotspot, then click Interactions in the toolbar above the panorama.
- Under Click, click the destination scene’s picture in the Go to scene action. The Go to scene panel opens.
- Change Destination scene, Transition or View (optional) as described below. Changes apply at once.
Right-click › Insert icon with action › Navigation opens the same panel for the new icon, starting with the list of scenes; click Done when finished.
Destination scene:
- Click the scene’s picture to pick another scene. The scene the hotspot is in can’t be picked.
- In a tour with only one scene, upload the destination panorama from the panel with Select file.
- Picking another destination clears the arrival view, because that view belonged to the old scene.
Transition:
Click the name of the current transition, then pick one: it applies at once, without a Save step. New links start with Fade.
- Fade: the next scene fades in (1 second).
- 3D: the camera moves toward the hotspot while the next scene fades in, as if the visitor walks there. See 3D transition below.
- Simple crossblending: a fade that starts slowly and speeds up (1 second).
- Zoom blend: the view zooms in while the next scene fades in (2 seconds).
- Black-out: fades to black, then to the next scene (2 seconds).
- White-flash: the view flashes white, then shows the next scene (1 second).
- Right-to-left, Top-to-bottom and Diagonal: the next scene wipes across the screen in that direction (1 second).
- Circle open, Vertical open and Horizontal open: the next scene opens out from the middle of the screen in that shape (about 1 second).
- Elliptic + Zoom: the next scene opens out as an ellipse while the view zooms (1 second).
Only 3D has a duration you can change. The other transitions always take the time shown.
3D transition:
When Transition is 3D, two more settings appear:
- Duration (seconds): how long the move and the fade take, from 0.3 to 2 seconds (1.2 by default).
- Camera travel (m): how far the camera moves toward the hotspot, from 0.5 to 9 metres. Leave it empty (Auto) to use the hotspot’s own distance, up to 4 metres.
The camera moves only between two full 360° photos. Visitors see a short plain fade instead when either scene is a flat photo or a partial panorama, when the destination is a 360° video or a 3D Gaussian splat scene, when they are in VR, and when their device is set to reduce motion. An arrival view doesn’t stop the move: it only sets which way visitors face when they arrive.
View (optional):
The direction visitors face when they arrive, and how far they are zoomed in. Without one, they arrive at the destination scene’s starting view (Initial View in its Scene Settings, see the Scene Menu section).
- Click Set view.
- Drag the preview to where visitors should look, and zoom in or out if needed.
- Click Save. A small picture of the view replaces Set view; click it to change the view again.
Clear removes the arrival view, so visitors arrive at the scene’s starting view again.
Street View arrows don’t use these settings: their transition is set once for the whole tour, in the 3D Transitions tab of the add-on (see Street View Arrows add-on).
